Director of Religious Education

Welcome! My name is Jamie Sullivan and I am very happy to be the Director of Religious Education here at the UU church of Chattanooga. I began this adventure in September 2007 and am very pleased to be surrounded by the amazing children of this church(including my 3 children). What are my goals for this program? I have many.

• Thinking about my role and influence on our program and moving in the direction which proves to be the most beneficial to the church. This direction is affirmed through communication with the RE committee, parents, and church members who share specific ideas.
• Molding this program into a spiritually nurturing, fun, caring, and accepting environment through teaching to work peacefully and cooperating with others. Tools such as talking sticks being utilized in learning to listen.
• Helping to bring out the many gifts we all have inside of us so we may share them with each other. By learning the UU principles and reflecting on these principles we will be guided in our quest toward understanding ourselves and the world around us through the UU lens.
