Please take notice before you continue to the discussion forums!
If you wish to engage in dialogue with others around topics of interest, this forum is a place to do that. You can post your thoughts, read the responses of others and post replies. In order that everyone can enjoy the give-and-take of a healthy debate, we must insist on three ground rules.
1. To participate, you must register with a name and a legitimate e-mail address. Your real name (unless it is specified as the user name) will not be publicly available, however we do reserve the right to address abuse using your real name, if necessary. We believe in freedom of speech. But with that freedom comes the responsibility to stand by your expression. While a cloak of anonymity may give some people the courage to express their thoughts, we also know that people are more likely to carefully formulate their opinions when their identity is known. And that will foster a more productive and enlightening forum. To paraphrase Christopher Hitchens, “That which is asserted without attribution can be dismissed without explanation.”
2. We strongly suggest anyone younger than 18 use an anonymous handle as their user name. We encourage, but do not require, all users 18 years and older to set their user name as their real name.
3. Inflammatory remarks, offensive language, character assassination, and commercial notices are inappropriate. The purpose of the forum is to exchange ideas, not to convince, convert or confuse. With freedom of speech, comes the responsibility of civil behavior. We do not intend to censor anyone. However, since anyone and everyone can register and read the postings in this forum, we will routinely review what is posted here. If we find the integrity of the forum is compromised by inappropriate content, we will take action to restore a family-friendly atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the debate.
