Rituals in Family Life
JAMES JOYNER

Through their special meaning and their repetitive nature, rituals contribute significantly to the establishment and preservation of a family’ collective sense of itself, which has been termed the “family identity.” Rituals stabilize this identity throughout family life by clarifying expected roles, and delineating boundaries within and outside the family.

Toleration, Confrontation,
Transformation...Got to Revolution”

ROGER DAVIS

The UUs place in the world can pretty much be sum-marized as one of peace, love and toleration: all laudable goals. But in this new 21st Century polarized era of blue-states vs red-states and evangelical mega-churches, can we afford to stand by while the membership of evangelicals grows by leaps and bounds? Does it alarm UUs that governments, schools and community agendas are increasingly being set by the extreme right-wing religious persuasion? What should our stance and attitude be towards the onslaught of pro-active and politicized religions? How can UUs facilitate a peaceful transformation of world consciousness so that we can all get along?

Ten Things I Love About UU
CECILE DE ROCHER

If you know the movie “Ten Things I Hate About You” then you know how I came up with this title. Some want the church to seem more like other denominations, thus more familiar to Christians looking for a religious home. There are things that UUs have though that most other denominations don’t, and they’re some of the best things about Unitarian Universalism.
