What to Expect on Sunday Morning
We begin at 10:45 with a segment called Connections. This is a time of sharing for those in the congregation who want to express their joys or sorrows. Some people are not comfortable sharing their personal setbacks or triumphs, so not everyone attends.
At 11:00 we begin the second part of the service with an energetic hymn. During the course of the service, we will offer a prayer or two, contemplate a passage from literature, perhaps a poem, maybe hear some scripture. We will sing, play music, ask silent questions, and laugh right out loud.
Children stay in the service for about 15 minutes then go to their classes. We take an offering and sometimes, we share the plate with outside agencies making the world a better place. There is a time of quiet. A sermon or presentation of some sort is usual.
Dress is casual. Long hair or tattoos are acceptable. Good taste and civil behavior are always in style. The service is followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments.
